Frequently Asked Questions
Chiropractic is a holistic healthcare discipline with a salutogenic approach to wellness - meaning that we seek to promote what makes people healthy, rather than focusing on disease. Our goal is to improve your body's function and natural healing abilities by finding and correcting spinal misalignments, which can interfere with the nervous system, decrease mobility and cause both chronic and acute pain.
Yes. Chiropractic care is a safe, non-invasive, and effective treatment for a broad range of issues. Dr. Josh uses gentle, precise adjustments and techniques tailored to each patient's age, condition, and comfort level.
While many people associate chiropractic with back pain, we can help with a wide range of conditions, including:
Neck pain
Headaches and migraines
Sciatica
Joint pain (shoulders, knees, wrists, etc.)
Sports injuries
Poor posture
Numbness or tingling in the arms or legs
Your first visit is all about listening and understanding your needs. Dr. Josh will conduct a thorough consultation to discuss your health history and current concerns. He'll then perform a comprehensive examination, which may include assessing your posture, range of motion, and spinal alignment. Based on these findings, he will explain your diagnosis and recommend a personalized treatment plan.
No, we do not accept private insurance plans. We are working on enrolling with Medicare part B, and we also accept HSA/FSA. We are also happy to provide you with a superbill for all services, which may allow you to be reimbursed through your insurance directly. Please contact our office with any questions or concerns and our team will be happy to provide you with more information before your first appointment.
Your initial consultation and examination will typically last around 30-45 minutes, depending on the severity/number of complaints and whether or not X-rays are needed. Subsequent visits are much shorter, lasting between 5-10 minutes for adjustments only, and around 20 minutes if decompression is part of your treatment plan.
Most patients find chiropractic adjustments to be a pain-free experience. You may hear a "popping" sound, which is simply the release of gas (mainly nitrogen and carbon dioxide) from the joint called a cavitation. Afterward, some patients may feel minor soreness, similar to what you might feel after a new exercise, but this is usually temporary.
The number of sessions you need depends on your specific condition, its severity, and how your body responds to treatment. Dr. Josh will discuss a recommended treatment plan with you during your second visit, including the frequency and duration of your care. Our goal is to get you out of pain and on the path to long-term wellness as quickly as possible.
